The method

Four things, coached properly.

A complete system for the capable man — trained in private, programmed around your schedule, and adjusted every week.

01

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Fundamentals to advanced, taught one-on-one. Real technique, real rolling, no ego — from your first day to competition prep.

02

Strength & Conditioning

Build a body that holds up on and off the mats — power, mobility, and staying injury-free through your 30s, 40s and beyond.

03

Nutrition & Recovery

Simple, sustainable habits that fit a demanding professional life in Dubai — not a crash diet you quit in three weeks.

04

Accountability

Weekly check-ins over WhatsApp, honest feedback, and a standard you are held to. The part that makes the difference.

Who you will train with

Coached by a black belt, not an app.

I am Anvar — a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under Kenta Hammarström at Prana Jiu-Jitsu in Stockholm, with 14 years on the mats and 20 years under the barbell.

I coach privately across Dubai: at gyms with open mat space, or in your own home. Small roster, full attention, real standards — the opposite of getting lost in a crowded class.

I keep the roster small on purpose — so every client gets full attention. When it is full, it is full.

Questions

Straight answers.

I have never trained jiu-jitsu. Is that a problem?

The opposite. Private coaching is the best possible start — you learn the fundamentals correctly, at your pace, without being thrown into a crowded class.

Where do we train?

Across Dubai. I coach at gyms with open mat space, and I can come to your building gym or home — wherever works best for you.

What does it cost?

Private coaching is priced to your goals and how often we train. We cover it on your free intro call — no surprises.

Who promoted you?

I am a black belt promoted under Kenta Hammarström, head coach at Prana Jiu-Jitsu in Stockholm, with 14 years on the mats and 20 years of strength training.

Am I too old to start? I’m in my 30s or 40s.

Too old to become a world champion? Maybe — though even that isn’t entirely off the table. Too old to learn a real skill, get in serious shape and enjoy it? Not a chance. Most of my clients are in their 30s and 40s. This is built for exactly you.

Do I need to be fit or in shape before I start?

No. Getting you fit is my job. You don’t prepare to start — you start, and we build the conditioning, the strength, and the self-defence and martial arts from wherever you are today. Turning up is the only prerequisite.

Is it safe? How likely am I to get injured?

Yes, it’s safe. Trained privately and properly, one-on-one is the safest way to learn — no crowded class, no ego, no stranger cranking a submission on you. Everything moves at your pace, and I coach you to train smart and tap early, so you stay healthy and on the mats for the long run.

How often do we need to train to make real progress?

It’s tailored to you — but two to three focused sessions a week is plenty to make steady, real progress. Consistency beats volume every time.

Do I need my own gi, or what should I wear to the first session?

Don’t worry about any of that — I’ll sort you out. Just come ready to move. The only thing you really need to bring is the will to train.

My schedule is unpredictable and I travel a lot. Can this still work?

Yes — and it’s often exactly why clients hire me. Nearly all of them travel constantly, several times a year. You’ll get a travel protocol so you keep progressing on the road instead of losing ground every trip.

I’ve trained before but hit a plateau. Can private coaching fix that?

Yes. Plateaus almost always come from blind spots — missing fundamentals or a strength gap holding your game back. One-on-one coaching is built to find exactly that and rebuild it.

Will we train gi or no-gi?

Both are on the table. It depends on you, your goals and what you prefer — we’ll settle on the right mix together.
